TESTIMONIALS
What patients have been saying...
I am seeing results in a week and half of therapy. Professional friendly service, encouraging people. Empower lives up to their name.
I would recommend Empower PT to everyone! They have treated me for several issues over the past 2 years and when I am done I feel like new. The atmosphere is fun and enjoyable.
Very personable staff with great attention and creativity to help accomplish the goals I set for my rehabilitation. Will definitely be returning for all my PT needs!
Frequently Asked Questions
“Direct access” has been approved for physical therapy in the state of Kansas. Meaning, you do NOT have to go to a doctor first when you are seeking physical therapy. Insurance will cover the same, whether you have a doctor prescription on file or not.
If you are unsure if physical therapy can help you, we do offer free 20-minute screenings. The screening includes meeting with one of our amazing physical therapists to ask questions and decide if PT is right for you. They also can recommend what the next best step would be in your care if the answer is not physical therapy.
If you choose physical therapy, we will happily set you up with a formal evaluation, where we will set up a plan of care, schedule future appointments, and bill insurance. (If a slot is available, we do block off additional time after your free screening in case you want treatment to start the same day.)
We want to empower you to be the best you can be! We take pride in providing our patients a warm, welcoming, fun, upbeat atmosphere. We love being on a first name basis with you, getting to know you, and welcoming you into our Empower family. We have been told time and time again that we do not just heal your physical body, but help boost your spirit too!
Our therapists are fully licensed physical therapists. We also have physical therapist assistants (PTA’s) at our locations. These professionals are also licensed and highly qualified to assist you in your treatment. We take pride in staying up to date with the latest treatment techniques and ways to get you better faster!
Physical therapy can help a HUGE range of things! Check out our conditions page for examples and come for a free screening to see if your condition could be improved with physical therapy. In general terms, we provide pain-relieving and healing treatment for everyday aches and pains, pre-surgical and post-surgical, and building strength and mobility to make your day-to-day life better.
Disclaimer: We recommend that you verify with your health plan what outpatient physical therapy benefits you have available if you have any questions before your initial evaluation. We cannot quote over the phone before your appointment because every health plan is different.
We have a variety of payment routes we can talk to you about. We have payment plan options from Care Credit, Sunbit, and Affirm. We also accept HSA/FSA cards, all major credit cards, check, and cash.
Bring a photo ID, insurance card(s), medication list, prescription (if applicable), any reports such as: X- Ray, MRI, CT scan, etc. that you think might be helpful for the physical therapist to read over. Also, please bring your paperwork filled out. If you have the paperwork complete before arrival, that will save you some time!
Your physical therapist will discuss your issues and concerns with you, do certain testing (if needed), create an individualized treatment plan for you, set up treatment goals, prescribe a plan of care (how many appointments and when), generate a home exercise program (HEP), and answer any questions you may have!
After your initial appointment, you will meet with the front desk before leaving to schedule out your prescribed plan of care and go over your insurance benefits and financial responsibility.
That is a loaded question! The more you participate in and outside of the clinic, the quicker you will reap the benefits of physical therapy! For most patients, you will warm up and perform various exercises and stretches that promote strength, stability, improved range of motion, and pain relief. Based on your condition, we may initiate other techniques such as manual therapy, taping, dry needling, ASTYM, Micro Point Stimulation, ASTYM, and more.
Your therapist also can make recommendations based on your progress. These can include altering the frequency of visits or making additions/alterations to your home exercise plan before your next visit. Being compliant with your home exercise program is crucial to your recovery! We have an awesome home exercise program (HEP) that has online access to be able to watch videos on how to perform the exercises correctly, message your therapist (coming soon!) and other cool features!
On your first appointment, plan to be here for one hour to one hour and a half hours. For all visits after your first, you will likely need to plan for one hour total depending on your treatment plan
Personalized treatment plans typically involve appointments 2-3 times a week for 4-6 weeks. We usually aim to get patients scheduled three times a week in the first two weeks so they can quickly get pain under control and start feeling the benefits of physical therapy as soon as possible.
There is a $40 same day cancellation/no show fee that we really do not like to charge, but is our policy. Same day cancellations or no-show appointments prevents another patient from getting care. We really strive to make sure our patients get the care they need as quickly as possible.
